Verena Dengler

Verena Dengler (*1981 in Vienna) studied printmaking at the Vienna School of Art (2001-2003), fine art with a focus on sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (2003-2009), Erasmus Semester in the Department of Sculpture at the Slade School of Art, UCL, London (2006). Her work has been shown in numerous exhibitions in Austria and abroad including Secession (2020), Kunsthalle Bern (2017), New Museum Triennale New York (2015); Metro Pictures, New York; Greene Naftali, New York; mumok Vienna; MAK Vienna; Galerie Meyer Kainer, Vienna; Thomas Duncan Gallery, Los Angeles, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf; Kunsthalle Zurich; 2015- 2017 teaching at, among others. a.o. at Haute école d'art et de design Genève, Switzerland (Master of Fine Arts program), University of Applied Arts Vienna, etc. Writes for frieze d/e, Texte zur Kunst, jungle world, FAZ, monopol. etc. Stage design and costumes at Berliner Ensemble (2018, 2021) and Schauspiel Frankfurt (2020). Her work has been awarded the Museion Prize 1 (2017), the STRABAG Art Award (2018) and the Outstanding Artist Award (2018).
